the only thing that i recently did not my car is i today took the UIM off, and put a new head unit in. could something have got shorted when doing that?

you probably damaged some wiring or did something wrong when putting the deck in..

look at the wiring manual in the FSM, pull all the bulbs in the circuit, put them in one-by-one (with a 15 amp fuse back in), see which bulb/ circuit blows the fuse- bingo, ya got it

the thing is that the illum was working for about 4 days with the new head unit in. so i dont think that that has anything to do with it.

by head unit, you mean car deck right?

some draw more current than the factory system can provide, and you may need to run a separate power cable to your battery, like an amp

rekx is probably on the right track- when something shorts out on our cars, it's usually because of something WE did...don't take the entire dash apart- just pull the stuff you can easily get to- you're just trying to isolate the culprit...

also, make sure you actually used a good ground when you put the new unit in...if you used a wire that you thought was a ground, it may not have been- ground the unit to the chassis ground, NOT a wire

come to find out i had one of the secondary injector orings not on right and it was leaking from there still. now it does not heat up as much. does the leaking fuel line have anything to do with the temp? or not?
