Exclamation Need expert advice ASAP. Please

Ok i put a new tranny in my car 3 days ago. Every thing works fine shifts great but when i go to get out of reverse its hard as hell i mean really hard. As in like i dont have the clutch pushed in(of course i do though) Then just today i realized by reverse lights are all ways on no matter what. So....... WTF could this be. i figured its linked b/c its hard to get out of reverse and the reverse lights are always on.

Also i have a very erractic idel. cant get it down all it dose is jump from 1500 to 2000 like crazy. Is this bad for my car?? and i asume its the tps how much do they cost.

Thanks

bump. i can never get any love in this forum.

well i assume my tps is trashed. so i did a search on here found most to be around $50, but iam know for sure the shop bye me is going to charge at least 75. Another thing i cam across is my problem with reverse. Could it be a bad nuetral switch. would that cause my problems iam having with reverse.

thanks

my best guess is something with the reverse lockout. dunno if its revolution (of the driveshaft or input shaft) or wether it was in 1st or N last or what.
But that could prevent you. Honestly I'm not positive FCs have them as I've never tried putting my car in reverse while driving forward.

No idea if this is a mechanical function or tied in w/ the neutral switch.

hopefully someone who knows the intricacies of the trannies more than I will respond, so heres a bump.

well i did as much searching and research as possible and came across a forum user here unpluged his neutral switch and his idle went back to normal. now what long term affects or damage can this do. if its unplugged that means the ecu thinks the car is always in gear is this bad???
