5) new fluids everywhere
I think #3 through 5 are certainly good ideas (for any car actually) but the first two are questionable.
How premixing is "simpler" than the auto injection is beyond me and removing the rat's nest seems to cause more trouble than it solves.

You might also want to run this project by a parent or two. Many object to a sons messy project taking up half their garage. Be sure and explain what it is you plan to do. Don't sugar coat it. If they lose patience halfway to completion you're totally screwed! I had a Corvette project that almost ended that way when I was 17.

in my opinion it all depends on the people that are willing to help you build it if your dad or friends are good mechanics and know what their doing id say go for it but the main thing that you have to understand is that the rx7 is not a 240sx or civic its different from any other car on the road there are rules and regulations that you must follow to keeping a rotary motor clean and healthy so they are ALOT OF UPKEEP.but the end result far surpasses the trouble.take this into account if your buddy has a civic and runs it to hard he can fix it for pennies if not free.if your rx so much as starts to act funny or weird you better stop and check it out now to save you trouble and money. if you have the support and know how i say go for it but if youve never built a car before i say to wait. GOOD LUCK

If you do still plan to get one, I'd suggest that you always have at least $1k on stowaway in case anything goes wrong so you can quickly replace it...It sounds like a lot but since you are buying an old used car, it might seem like everything is great then a bunch of things will fail all at once and you'll be glad you had that extra set aside.
