need buying advice

There is an 91 TII for sale in my town it has 7XXXX miles
the problem with it is that the moter went out a while ago. The car is complete and looks great he wants $1500 firm for it should i buy this car ? I have a 87 n/a in immaculate condition the only thing wrong with my 7 is that it isn't turbo...

if you have the ability to replace the motor in the T2 then I would offer $1000 cash and see if he would take it.

But even $1500 isn't bad for a 91 Turbo with only 70K miles, if the car is not all riced or moded out.

The 91 is stock, if i buy this car i plan on putting a jspec in it. A guy i know down the street said i could barrow his garage ( he has a engine hoist and stand ). i plan to learn alot about rx-7's with the 91 IF i buy it. there is a guy that lives around me that has installed rotary engines and is willing to help me with this little project

You should rebuild the Jspec before installing it, most Jspecs have been sitting around for the last 10+ years in the back of some Japanese junkyard.

They used to be fine (and a few still are) right off the container, but most have bad seals or springs that will be come very apparent about 2-3000 miles in.

I say go for it. A '91 turbo in perfect condition goes for about 5K, so if you've got the money for the rebuild, do it.
