4-piston brakes have the hardline coming off the caliper. Single piston's do not. The flexible portion is a different length and fitting depending on whether or not you have the hardline.
I have *heard* you can just remove the 4-piston hardline and just use the original single piston line/banjo bolt setup. I can't confirm that since I've never played with the single piston setup.

Ok..lets' clear this mess up!
Single piston caliper flex lines go directly to the caliper and screw into the Caliper.
The 4 Piston caliper has a hard line that screws into the caliper.(short steel line about 8 inches long)...THEN it goes into a Flex line..then that Flex line goes to the Bracket at the inner fender and attaches to the LONG steel line that leads to the main brake distribution area(saying that because I am not sure if it master or Proportional valve)
you "can" get away with using the Single piston Flex line,BUT you have to make sure that you attach it to the caliper first and it doesn't Bottom out..So you may need 2 crush washers.
It does work.(yes I did it ).BUT it isn't the best option Safety wise.
the Ideal setup is get the small steel lines for the 4 piston calipers, eether from Mazda or buy 2 10 inch pieces with metric fittings and shape them yourself. You will need the 2 flex lines too.
about 20 some odd dollars Each Canadian.

I already sent you this,But I thought others could use it.
Part Numbers.
Right side steel line: FB05-43-710B
Left side steel line: FB05-43-720B
Flex lines. You need TWO(2).that is one per side.

I still didn't really understand what you guys are saying. misterstyx, you're saying to just get some crush washers and make sure the fitting doesn't go all the way in (so the ends don't crush eachother?)
I need to figure something out asap because my brakes are going to fail real soon, the piston doesn't release causing the pads to stick on the front drivers side and for the past month been waiting for 4pots to arrive and now nobody has lines locally and nobody seems to sell them used. I really need some advice.

Common sense would tell you leave it at home. You shouldn't f*ck around with brakes if you don't understand the consequences when it fails .
If you're not competant working on brakes, have someone do it for you.
It's not something you can flip a switch and the car will stop on it's own.

I gave you part numbers..Mazda has more than ONE Dealer in Canada and for God Sake!, I gave you RAY Crowe's Number!,Just in Case!
I bet you a THOUSAND Dollars, you take that Car INTO that Mazda you said "orders by the VIN", to get the brakes converted and Mysteriously Brake lines will appear Out of THIN air!
I just Got those parts from a dealer, with those numbers. So they can get them.
Take that list of parts ask for the Parts Manager(not the Coffee guy) Put the list in his hand and say " ORDER Them".
.............
Good luck.
