Need advise on turbo choice

Alright, well Ive been looking around alot lately for an alternative turbo for my FC. Mods in sig, relavant things include large streetport, Greddy FMIC, etc.. I have a Greddy turbo kit which includes a Mitsubishi TD-07 25A turbo. While I have been told by many that this is a good turbo, finding specs on it, and others experience with it on a 13BT is proving quite hard. My other option that I am liking is a Garret T04E. Specs on this turbo include an exhaust A/R of 1.00, a compressor A/R of .70, and a P-trim exhaust wheel. I was just wondering if anyone would have any comments about either turbo?? My goal is 400 RWHP, and hopefully staying ~15psi. ( Dont really want to have to run more for that power level). Both turbos have a divided exhaust housing, and my manifold is fully divided also. Here are a few pics of each:

Garret T04E

Any comments about either would be much appreciated, especially about the TD-07. I really wish I could talk to someone who has experience with this turbo.

if you want 400 at 15lbs call precision turbo and have them set you up or get a Garrett GT35/40R. About the same price for both

That probably would be a good thing, but I believe that turbo is somewhere in the price range of ~$2600.. I just dont think I am willing to spend that much. Plently of people are making 400+RWHP on non-BB turbos, so it can be done. Im sure it would spool a bit quicker, but Ill just have to sacrifice that I suppose.

that 25A looks like its from 1975. why dont you just put it on your car and see how it does? if you dont like the setup, sell it and get a T04e... i dont see the big problem

Haha, it just has a flat-faced compressor housing. The turbo is actually in very nice shape. Almost 0 shaft-play. Anyway, I dont have a problem , I just dont want to go through the hassle of installing it and then not being happy with the results, and having to get another manifold, turbo, downpipe..etc... This should do 350RWHP no problem, but I would like to see 400...

What's the compressor wheel on the T04E?

You can take off the compressor and turbine housings and take measurements... That should give a very rough estimate on what the turbo might be capable of... If memory serves me right, I believe Chris Ng made 400rwhp @ 15 psi with the TD07 (although that was a 25G). "25" refers to the size of the wheel... so it should be capable of 400rwhp... The main difference between "A" or "G" or whatever letters follow the number seems to be the shape and design of the wheel. This should affect where the turbo is more efficient more than anything else... but I doubt you will have to push the turbo to over 20psi to make 400rwhp.

What about the HKS GT3528 BB? Its probably good for every bit of 400hp. Or you could go with a T-72/78.

^^ lol, there is no such thing as a GT3528. It's a GT2835, and it is WAY too small for a rotary. It would be along the lines of a T28 footprint.

The Greddy T78 would acheive 400rwhp no problem, but it's a rather large turbo for "just" 400rwhp.

The Turbonetics T72 is HUGE! It's bigger than an HKS T51R Kai!
