need advise on replacing oil pan/gasket

I need to replace an oil pan for my 2nd gen. RX7. Please advise me on how to get the pan out. Do I need to lift the engine up? If there is a trick that would be a helpful.
Thanks

the engine does need to be jacked up a bit in order to get the engine mount off, which bolts right on to the bottom of the pan. Other than that, its just a pain to get off all 20 something bolts that hold it on, especially the front ones. It isn't all that hard though and pretty straight foreward. Plan on spending a couple hours on it since it is your first time doing it. Hope this helps.

Whatever you do, dont use the stock gasket. Just get some silicone, it will seal better and last longer.

Thanks for all of the replies. I was under the car tonight and made a plan. This may be silly, do I need to unmount both sides of the engine mount or just one side which bolt to the pan and jack it up (or tilt it up a bit). Other than that I am ready to try this weekend.
Thanks also for the silicone advise. I thought silicone just to feel good (just kiding!)
