Question Need advice: TII vs. Other Car

Getting ready to sell my Durango this spring. Deff. going to get a car I can modify and have some fun with. I've been a rotary fan since I've been little (mainly an RX-7 fan). I just need your opinions on a good car to modify that I should buy. I really want a 7, but I'm trying to out weigh one or the other. If I dont get a 7 what should I get? Why should I get that car instead of a 7. I really really really want a 7, but I just ned reassurance. Thanks.

if you really want a 7 you dont need our suggestions. if you have any doubts i suggest getting something else because the 7 is a fragile car and if you have doubts about getting one when something breaks youll just get frustrated with your choice

Why would you come to a 2nd Gen RX-7 specific website and ask this? I'd think we're all pretty biased.

It all depends. If the car was taken care of and you take care of it, the 7 is a wonderful car. My 88 TII is my daily driver, the stock engine had 180,000miles on it when I finally pulled it to rebuild it (didn't blow, just wanted to rebuild before it did). I don't baby the car by any means, I auto-x it and just can't resist freeway on ramp romps, but she's been sooo good to me.

Just remember, the newest RX7 (FD) is still going to be a 10 year old car, and the newest FC is obviously older than that, so you'll have to deal with maintainence issues etc.
