Unhappy need advice on my fc project!

hey sup everyone. lets c. i used to drive a 2000 eclipse gt. 5 days ago at 3:30 am here in vegas i was driving on the freeway maintaining about 75 to 80 mph. i was in the passing lane as i began to close in on an older car. i got into the middle lane to pass him and while i was passing him or her, the *** swerved straight into my lane causing me to swerve to my right. with my two frens in the car and bald tires from racing at the speedway, my car lost traction and i ended up drifting into the wall. i hit at about 70 mph and the car flipped. and rolled and then slid for 380 feet upside down.
we all made it out of the car alive and in one peace. thank GOD for that stock roll cage that the 3gen eclipses have! anywayz my car is totalled. all gone. that was ma baby to! to get to the point, my car is no more and when insurance is all done and settled ill have between 8 and 9 grand to spend on a car. which sux cause my car was 26 grand and i put in about another 8!
my frens have this rx7 fc. i think its a 88 or 89. its the na fc. well its not running. they think its just the seals that need to be replaced but im sure there is more. i want to take it on as a project car and have lots and lots of questions since i dont know jack about these cars.
one of my frens is telling me to just go buy a turbo motor for cheap and that it should bolt right up to the na tranny. is this true? ohh by the way the car is a manual. but my other frend is saying with the money that i use to buy tha turbo motor i can just use it to to fix the motor already in there and rebuild it myself.
my goal is to not only get it running but also make it fast. i want it to be turboed for sure. so should i just build the stock motor get it running and ready for high boost? or should i go buy the turbo motor and then get that ready for high boost? i want to be able to run high 12's and have about 350 whp. do u think its possible to do all this for under 6 grand spent. im only going to be buying the car off a frend for 300 dollars.
i just want it to have lots of gauges, loud *** bov, probably use a t4 turbo or what ever u guyz recomend. then i want to get real coilovers and later put on the gpsports bodykit and paint it black.
any advise u guyz can give will be much appreciated! plz let me know if its possible with enough research and work to build my fc to be a 12 sec car with 8 grand to spend. thx

My advice is not to get the FC, and learn how to type/spell.

Nah... I mean look at what is between the lines...

He knows little about the cars, and has trouble controlling even a front wheel drive car. Granted he claims that it was someone elses fault and that he had bald tires (It's always someone elses fault and he could spend $8k on building the car, but can't spend $400 on new tires???)

He wants to get into the 12s, no small feat even for a T2 without serious work.

Sounds like he is full into rice/just showing off:
i just want it to have lots of gauges, loud *** bov, probably use a t4 turbo or what ever u guyz recomend. then i want to get real coilovers and later put on the gpsports bodykit and paint it black.
and
i want it to be turboed for sure.
and then... and then... and then...

And yet from his post I doubt he has even driven a FC before...

I am sorry, but it just doesn't sound like a good match of a car for him.

Don't buy the car that your friend is selling. Buy a Turbo II that needs some work, or better yet, runs perfectly. You can find a 87-88 model for $2000 if you look hard enough.

Then spend money on it, but don't waste money on pointless modifications. Obviously a compression check would be in order along with an inspection by a rotary guru, of which there are plenty of in your area.

I would also suggest going through alot of the threads in this section in order to learn what the hell we're talking about. These cars are SPORTS cars, not economy cars dressed up to look sporty. If you aren't comfortable getting under your car and spending all day getting greasy, then don't bother with an RX-7 as many mechanics are terrified of these cars (and the dealership is usually incompetent).

Running 12's is going to be hard and expensive. You're going to need alot more than $6000. Trust me and trust the other guys in this forum who know way more than I do. If you're looking for a cheap way of going fast, a first-gen Eclipse GSX makes an excellent choice.

If anyone wants to bring me their TII and $6000 I will be MORE than overjoyed to make it run reliable 12's. TII must be in good running condition. I get to pocket left over money

Being that you do have the car already, first.....DO NOT try and put a turbo on a n/a motor you will be wasting time and money. You can either get a j-spec motor or for a few bucks more get a T2 motor built. Also the drive train in the n/a has to go...you will need tranny, drive shaft, diff, and axles. Then from there you can start doing what you want in terms of what level of performance you are wanting. If you haven't dealt with rotarys before you are not in for an easy stress free life....everyone in hear can tell you horror storys and some can tell you they have lost count of the amount of money they have spent on their RX-7. When it comes to RX7s you either love em or hate em, theres no in between.

With a TII it won't take $6,000 in mods, maybe $6,000 altogether.

Price of car($2,000-3,000)+full custom exhaust($450 or so)+Custom TID/intake($50)+walbro pump($100)+fcd($100)+larger injectors($440)+boost gauge($100)+s-afc($290)+fmic($885)+upgraded turbo($500)=

$4915-5915

Damn it does add up to be more than you think, but still pretty cheap for how fast that car will be.

Actually, I would say the same exact things to your face if you were standing in front of me, that I don't think a FC would be a good choice for you.

*edit
maybe you should also read this thread:

You know I am not trying to knock anyone, or make anyone feel bad. If anyone is dead set on doing what he described, thats fine, go ahead. I just don't think that he will be happy in the long run.
