long story short: pulled LIM to port it, found 5th auxillery port control rod frozen in closed position. top snapped off wehn it turned it with pliers. got a front rod off a s4, after being todl on this board they are the same. they are not. the head is cut differently for different amount of travel and the groove the sleeves hook on to are at a different angle. there are only S4 cars in the local junkyards, no S5 cars. dealer can;t get a new one, claims it would have to be shipped form japan. neither mazdatrix or rx7.com to my knowledge sell them either. the car has been down for a week, the dealer is saying 2-3 weeks to get the part. i can't get a new from a junkyard.

if anyone has a one they can sell it would be great, but i doubt anyone does. how well would removing the sleeve for the 5th port work while keeping the 6th port actuated? what are my options at this point?

whatever part of the LIM off an s4 n/a you need i have and am wiling to sell, its already pulled off a motor and everything

thats the problem, i have s5 n/a engine and LIM, and the S4 part will not work. i have the s4 part form a junkyard.
