NASA or SCCA?
Just wondering what everyone's opinions are about these two organizations. Once you are on the track, racing is racing, but I am curious as to what everyone who races with either or both of these thinks of them. Anything to look out for, …etc.
Any opinions are welcome.

Interesting topic. Let me quickly say, I've never run with SCCA aside from their street schools. However, I usually attend every Norcal NASA event and most SoCal NASA events at BW, with our photo biz. So I've seen first hand how NASA runs their organization. I have also run multiple HPDE events with NASA.
IMHO, I would not hesistate to go racing with either organization. I think you'll find more cars running ITS in SCCA in SoCal (where you are I believe). Up north, ITS(aka PS-1) is closer to parity between the organizations.
Of course, the obvious benefit to running with NASA, is our stunning photography work

I think it really depends on what you want to do.
If you want lapping days/ schools and the ability to get your feet wet in road racing, NASA is a good place to go.
If you want to race with a more serious level of competition, the SCCA would work better for you.

My take on both organizations...
If you're doing this for fun, either or will suffice.
SCCA has a pretty balanced program, anywhere from Solo II/Autocross to full Club Racing/Pro Racing GT-class stuff.
NASA primarily concentrates on their high-speed road racing events.  *BUT* NASA also does have Autocross *AND* drag racing events (just not as much as the road racing stuff) - if you ever seen the NASA newsletter, you'll know what I mean.
NASA was started out by a bunch of folks who got fed up with too much SCCA red-tape and politics; you'll find the NASA events are a little more relaxed with less BS.
