Naganousa JDM Motors... and other East Coast importers
Yes, I've searched...
Has anyone dealt with these guys before? I'm looking for an importer on the east coast to get a swap. I know it's a crap shoot, I'm willing to buy it so I can have the car moving for a year or so until I can rebuild it.
I just want to make sure I am buying from a decent place. I'm in NYC so if you guys know of any places around me with a decent rep. please let me know.
Thanks in Advance

I'm guessing most of the reputable importers are going to be west coast, seeing how that's the shortest path from the promised land.
That being said, I had a good experience with both Atkins and Corksport. Corksport were upfront enough to tell me that all the 2nd gen engines they got in were only good for parts. That's reassuring that they quality controlled them and care about their rep enough not to sell junk.
I got a rock-solid engine from Atkins. So far as I know they don't do importing on a regular basis. I got my engine 3 years or so ago. I used it as a daily driver for 3 years with no problems. Last summer my front rotor went but the rear one still has 100 psi all around.

the rotary is unique, because you can't really inspect it, so any used engine is a crapshoot.
if you add another country, 8000miles, and 25 years, then really you can't expect a lot
