NA w/S-AFCII tuning - benefits in running above 87 octane?
My NA vert is going to the dyno this week for some tuning. Would I be able to squeeze any more power out of it if I ran 93 octane? I know the compression isn't changing, but I was wondering if I could lean it out more to make more power if I were running 93 as opposed to 87. I only need the motor to last 20-30k more miles, so take that into account under reliability concerns. Also, what AFRs would you tune for? Values for Conservative, Compromise between power and reliability, and Leanest you would go.
Mods to the 90 Vert:
Mild Streeport (15k miles)
Port-matched manifolds
Port sleeves removed
Racing Beat Race Pipe
Racing Beat Cat Replacement Pipe
Racing Beat Catback
K&N Shielded Intake
S-AFCII
Thanks guys!

if you advanced the timing you could gain a few ponies, and then you might need higher octane but w/ the stock ecu 87 octane is best. all the aftermarket ecu's like superchips, etc advance the timing to where you have to use higher grade gas but i duno if the gains are all that good.
