NA to Turbo-any info available?
I have done some searching, with little luck on turboing the NA motor. The car in quesiton is a 87 GXL.
I assume the T2 manifold and what not will bolt up, but I see a smog pump and assemlby on the intake on the NA motor that loosk to be in the way. Does anyone know if it is, and what can be done to get around it?
Other than that, I think it should be quite straight forward.

it is not as straight forward as it appears. there is alot that goes in to it. I did it on an S5 with great results but it was a long road. there was many times i did not know what to do but with the help from members of theis site i got it done. trust me it is no over nite project it took nearly 4 months to complete. you need more fuel, a way to control it. Turbo 2 maniflods, fuel rails, oil metering lines and the list goes on and wile the maniflods are off it is a good time to do some good cleaning and updating on some other lines like vac and fuel and oil. i will say it can be done but besure you have a good knowelge of the rotary and tools because there is unexpected turns with every different car. the end results are rewarding. if you have any questions let me know i will try to help best i can and Aaron is another one who is very helpful. goodluck!

Very cool, thanks. I am not at all concerned about building/installing the turbo system, nor the added fuel issue. I just know how temperamental the rotary is, and dont want to bother pissing it off since the car is in such good running condition.
How long did your s5 last with the turbo on it, and how much boost did you run daily? If it seriously compromises the longevity of the motor, I may not bother, since this will only be a fun daily toy, not my main project car.
