NA to TII....What is all needed?

This has probably been asked a million times but i did a search and couldn't find anything because of the more than 2-letter rule. I found a steal NA Rx7 for 2300. How much for the J-Spec TII engine? which engine is best? any mods highly suggested while the engine's out? I guess ill get the TII hood from someone on the board...any other mods needed to take the new engine? suspension? HOw much am I looking at? Thanks ahead guys!

J-Specs are around $900-1000 I think. You still need the tranny too, ECU, manifold, etc. and driveshaft. Depending on your current model, its wise to get the bigger brake setup and the LSD from the GTUs or TII.

Goto the archives and look for Aaron Cake's thread. There is A LOT of info there.

Decent condition TII's can be had for much less than $8000.

Go to edmunds.com. It adjusts the price based on your area code so you have a bargaining point.

Uh, my thread has nothing to do with installing the TII drivetrain in the NA. In fact, it is nearly the exact opposite.

If you want to convert to TII I can sell you almost all the parts to do it for a S4 for like $1700 J-spec Motor, Tranny, Drive line, Engine harness, ECU, Sensors under Dash, Boost pressure Sensor, Fuel Pump, AFM, TID, I think then all you would need is a rear end, DP, Midpipe, TII slave cylinder and boost gauge. If you consider how much it would cost to Street port and rebuild an N/A motor this is a good deal. PM me if your interested

I just bought an '87 GXL w/ 150k and a blown(?) motor for $600. That's with the 5-lug 4-piston calipers and LSD too. Only go for the N/A -> TII swap if you have a non-running N/A. Otherwise you'll get screwed.

Wanna help me do the swap?
