He said he has a street port. He's not talking about stock ports. And who knows what his definition of "streetport" is.

Amen brutha.....

My TII runs the 1/4 at 115+ MPH.... at those speeds, i should be in the 12's, but the combo of my lead foot, BAAAAAADDDDD tires and getting used to a new clutch setup kills my 60ft times, my best yet has been a 2.24 60ft with an end result of 13.8 @ 112 MPH... (i poped the clutch in second and spun, thus killing the top speed and time) But to get into the 12's, i gotta get that 60 ft time under 2 seconds. The tire problem is easy to fix... the clutch.... I'm working on!!!! The leadfoot.... i don't think that ones going away!!

What kind of streetport? Like really really big one or what? Any pics of the template you used or anything by chance? I'm just wondering how you got over 200 rwhp off a streetport, that's nice. Also wondering where my port will put me at.

You did it with a "4.88 rearend with a lsd" and that time is from a g-tech. I don't trust g-techs very much at all except for instantaneous g's, get a time at the track before you claim 13's, and that 4.88 rearend helps a bit.

well of course the 4.88 rear helps thats why i got it, and i have not heard one thing bad about g-tech except that the trap speed is usually higher. I plan on takeing it to the track but its hard to get there b/c its over an hour to get there and i am always working and going to school.

What I meant about the 4.88 is that it's kind of a different ball game with that than other normal N/A FC's, just like RETed said in his "challenge" earlier.

G-Tech's always give faster 1/4 times than what you're really running, every time I've ever used one or my friend has has been that way. Plus streets are not perfectly flat usually, even though you might think it is or say it "looks" like it. A track is a lot more accurate and fair, that's just my belief, but you can do or think what you want.

Yeah, well when i get a chance to go to the track i will but for now the g tech is what i got, i misread what he said about the rear end b/c after that he said it was legal, thats why i posted here.

Im down for the carb challenge. I will be running my s5 gxl and will be more than likely the only one . Are we going to get any prizes for winning? I would also like to know what the rules are for a street port. Should we go buy SCCA's rules

That's a very valid point.
I was thinking of making another contest that would shoot for a target of 200hp at the wheels (DynoJet) that would basically take the driver out of the equation...

You can have forum bragging rights! I'd call a streetport anything not a bridgeport or a peripheral port. Streetport it your way the size you want.

I'm wondering, should we only keep this open to the 6 port motors only or should we allow 4 port nonturbo motors too? Ted, what do you think?

Hey, I wouldn't care, but is it worth using a GSL-SE 13B 4-port?

GSL-SE 4-port? I'm probably just really slow because you lost me on that one!

Hmmm...I might be off on this one, but I think the only 13B 4-port is the 1G RX-7 GSL-SE, unless we're talking about a non-turbo 13BT?

gsl-se is a 6-port wis smaller primaries and aux ports then the FC 6-port,.. the 74 and earlier 13bs in things like the repu were 4 port.

Since I own a GSL-SE you had me wondering if you were being sarcastic which threw me for a loop. All GSL-SE's were 6 ports. They just weren't ported as large as the 2nd gens and the rotors were heavier. Everything about them sucks compared to the 2nd gen engines but they do come with 3mm apex seals. All previous 13B's were 4 port. Obviously you know how it works after that.

I was actually wondering if any said contest should allow nonturbo 13BT based engines in too or if the 6 ports were the only ones that should be considered. Part of me thinks that it should only be the 6 port engines since that is what came in all of the n/a's but another part of me says what the hell.

Hey guys, thanx for the correction.
I don't really delve into the pre-FC stuff, so all of that is all hazy for me.

We got a guy who has a 4-port 13B, and I have no idea where it came from.
I thought it was a GSL-SE, but with your explanatons that can't be possible.
Crap, I dunno if that motor is worth anything.

I would think the FC version of the 6-port 13B would be the ultimate tech for the engine short of the RX-8 13B MSP-RE, so anything older would be a handicap?
I know some of the older irons can be ported more, but would that make it enough?

This has been my goal since I got my first FC. The mod list is pretty big right now, I still need an EMS and other stuff though.

Weight is a key issue, what are the rules as far as weight redux. goes? Full interior...no interior? No removing of bumper supports and other safety stuff?

i think all saftey stuuf should be in the car, to kepp it strett legal, but anything else can go.
as well i think this should only involve the gsl-se and the fc's.
so only 6 port stock ports.

i cant wait to get started
