Yo,

Xentrix, you know I'm just givin' ya a hard time.

The other thing about the drag strip vs. G-tech is that you don't have the Timing lights/Christmas tree to contend with. There is a certain amount of pressure to launch correctly with the lights, vs. just the G-tech. It's more like the real world where you're at a stop light and you have one chance to get the jump on the other guy.

I just think a timeslip is more "real" than a G-tech number.

I know

I don't think I'll have a time slip until I get this turbo on my car anyways.

I can't help it. The red lightsabers look too cool. I'm gonna turbo my NA, but I'm a poor college student. I don't have 'that' many more parts (need a series 4 lower tII intake manifold and some injector stuff) to get a working na-t, but I'd like to go ahead and get a rebuild before I do this.

15.7 here with a 86' base (power nothing), weighting in at 2480 a few days before (with about 30lbs of crap and 1/4 tank of fuel), really bad winter tires (got decent tire even in 3rd gear, not to mention 1st and 2nd) and RB cat replacement pipe+presilencer.

I'm sure I could get that down to 15.5 or so with some practice, as I've only drag raced a few times before.

Like billy said..We only have a 1/8th track unless we go to Gulf Port, Ms. for a 1/4th. My car is completely stock for now..and i've gotten it to the low 11s. Check out my threads on my 1/8th times (both threads)

I WAS planning on going to the dark side but realized TII parts are hard to find cheap. I mean I want a turbo but Id want to do it right and thats rather $$. So my goal is a 14.0 with my n/a that I drive on the street.

PS- Is the RB header/presilencer that much better than the pacesetter? Including sound and performance gains, I already know he quality is MUCH better.

The only thing I don't like about the RB header is how stinking heavy it is. The build quality and performance gains are first rate.

I ran a 15.3 and had to let off the gas in first and second.. to get that crappy 15.3..

I think the car has a second to gain with real tires..

I voted 14.5 because I can't find my actual time slip to back up the 14.3xx that I remember.

Mine was run at Steele, AL. That track is so shitty NHRA will not sanction the track for official events. At the time it was on a motor that only pulled 80lbs at most on a compression check. Mods were, full RR exhaust (one muffler, no cats or pre-silencer, short pirmaries), all emessions removed, cone intake. And the car only weighes around 2400lbs (with 6pt cage)

The car's suspension is setup for a road course and I can't drive a straight line so my best 60ft was something like 2.3+.

Now that I have a new ported motor and a bit less weight I might be able to break into the 13's but the car is sold (but still in my garage) so I will never know.

And I forgot.. it has a MazdaComp 4.33 LSD.

Mostly driver that can make the times shorter. And i'm thinking of turbo charging my NA engine.. after an expensive rebuild.. Well.. actually twin turbo charging with T-25's or t-66's and i'm not gonna be using no friggin TII intake!! anyways i'll tell ya what my times are whenver i get this beater on the road.. ( and beleive me.. i'm gonna beat the **** out of it for a while to take out all my aggrivation at it for the irritation it cuased to get it running!)

I did'nt think that my 15.1@95 was that bad. Keep in mind, this was'nt with removal of anything out of the car, besides the spare tire, I think. I'm still running ac, ps, all my emmission, and a exaust thats heavier than the factory one! CJ

Yeah yeah, I know; I just haven't gotten around to changing it (I have the DVD BTW)

On a note relating to this topic... what did you put for the poll? I didn't vote, due to the fact I've never been to the track w/ my RX-7... but I doubt that stopped you
