Wow thats not too good, i ran a 16.0 with bad mounts, and tranny that was going bad giving me bad shifts (grinds in 2nd and 3rd have to push it in). Since then i have put a t2 lsd rear end replaced motor mounts tranny mounts and diff mounts, but still need tranny. Hoping to hit the track again soon just need a rebuild on my tranny

Peace
Buddy

Yo,

Dammit Xentrix! Can't you read?! No G-Tech! *snicker*

I'm looking for honest to goodness drag results for NA powered FC's. I pulled a 16 and I want to see how that compares to everyone else.

Side Note: Both polls have been up for awhile...no one has voted on the Turbo one and we've had 9 votes (not counting the misguided turbo guy)...I seriously think most people that browse this 2nd Gen Forum have NA's.

Well, with the majority of FC's sold being NA's thats not surprising.

I'd vote on the Turbo Poll, but its never been dragged.

WTF.
How come I get that Slow N/a's.

I have a 88 SE with 152k on the engine and it runs 17.4's at best with a 60ft of something like 2.6 at 79MPH i think.I had to put the mazdatrix race diff mount in cause I broke it doing to quarter.

My new 88 GTU with 80k has only been run twice.
The best time was 17.01 at 82MPH and a 60-ft of 2.5.
I know I can get a 60ft of 2.4 though since I didnt grab off the line that time.

I'm about to get the corksport single catback and I've put in an efan so I will see what I run then. I should be able to hit 17 flat at least. I just gotta get my 60ft down.
Although my clutch is starting to go.

I tried to post my time, but It would let me. My best time was a 15.1@95, with a working 6 port system. I've since removed all the rods, and the stuff. Makes more power up top for shure. I feel if the track is nice, and I have some good air it should go a 14.7@97ish or so on true street tires. But these are just my guesses....only time and the track will tell.

When I turned my 15.1, we had some 85f+ heat, and a small head wind. We'll see come March. CJ

Why not G-tech times? They're only bullshit if you give them bad weight info. Take the car to a damn scale and get a real weight and you should be able to pull a respectably accurate set of data off one. Its simple physics. Hp = weight x distance / time. (or something like that. going off my two glasses of wine memory here)

I'm really shocked at how slow all of your cars are too. 95mph in the end of the quarter is pretty sad. I hit that in less than the length of my block. (not country road either)

I'm tempted to get a stopwatch and have a friend clock me so we can actually have an accurate idea of what times I'm running. My initial goal when building my engine was breaking into 12's all motor. I'm not sure thats all that far off right now. I still have lots of chasis tuning to do and stuff to upgrade.

16.0 @87 same set-up as RAREST except i have the RB header (i also have a GTUs rearend).

I'm getting my other tranny rebuilt with a new clutch, plus i have newly cleaned injectors, pretty much a major *** tuneup. When i go again i'll keep you posted. I will DENFINITELY do better next time : )

ps my 60ft was 2.3 and i think i was shifting too slow, I know it coulda been faster.

I ran a 16.1@89 with a 2.7 60ft. I broke my diff, not the mount the actual diff, 3 weeks before I went to the track so I took it easy off the line. I was shifting REALLY FAST, I know that it sounds dumb, but power-shifting really fast will work wonders for your time slip. RAREST, take off those heavy rims, and powershift your way to a low 15.

90 GTU
stock rims/205/60/15 bridgestone potenza'a
weponR intake
racing beat header/presilencer
mazdatrix cat back
and a tune up

Yo,

Jimmy, the reason I don't want G-tech's is because they can be fooled into giving incorrect numbers. You're not testing on a flat surface, wrong weight, etc. A timeslip is a timeslip...it's the real deal.

Anything else (including your own estimates of what "fast" or how "slow" our cars are compared to yours) is just conjecture. My car feels plenty fast when it's ripping along in 3rd gear up to 8K...but on a drag strip it's a different matter.

Again, I'm not defending my time...16 in the 1/4 is relatively "slow", but I would not call my car "slow." It's plenty fast, given the right environment.

IS anyone still stock and pulling around mid 16's or lower?

Mines almost all stock except a presilencer where the precats are and i bought the car that way and I pull 17.1.

sorry
The closest strip is over an hour and a half away and it's an 8th mile at that.

Maybe I should say I was a good 6 cars ahead vs a known time slipped 15.5sec altima. I used his g tech and had my car set to either 2850 or 2900 for weight, it's hard to remember something from 2 years ago.

my arguement is that with proper weights and a flat road you can get resonably accurate information from them. hell, if you use any measuring tool wrong you have a chance for getting messed up data.
