NA nOOb style question
ok, my gxl is broken down. ive been looking for a DECENT t2 for a long time, because i want POWER. but i was thinking, since im going into auto-x. i should try and build up a a pretty good NA. my question is, would it be possible to get 250hp and sub 14 second 1/4 runs out of an s4 NA, if so, tell me what i should get, money's not an issue

You can get 250hp from an N/a. But its only done through radical porting and extreme modifications that make it unstreetable due to lack of low end and extreme noise. You'd likely need a bridge port and a full race exhaust.(race=teh loud!) The highest street port dyno I have yet to see is 170ish hp. Search for Icemarks thread on going back to N/a from turbo and you will find his dyno sheet.

ok, here is what im thinking so far as of mods.
-rebuild with~ 3mm apex seals, fd corner seals, cryogenic treatment
-half or mild bridge port
-tb mod
-mustang mass airflow sensor
-rb headers with 3 1/2" straight through pipes and 1 big *** muffler
-t2 fuel pump with 550cc secondaries
-underdrive pulleys
-removing all un necasary parts (ac, ps, other junk)
-light flywheel, good clutch
what am i forgeting

Stock fuel set-up ain't gonna work. I am not too keen on a half bridge either. A full bridge, RB carb set-up and full RB exhaust will get you where you want and might be the cheapest route too.

You're not goin to get 250hp out of an auto-x'able N/A. You need a peripheral port, with a powerband between 8-12,000rpms. Strictly a drag or oval track car. Definatly NOT for the street.
Or
Buy my turbo gxl! Just put it up for sale- 2800 US.
Cheap! Easily 250hp, untuned.

rxseven is right.. a big street port on a 13b using 4 port t2 side housings , a holley racing beat intake , 650 jetted carb, wit regulator and pump.. would help... maybe even half bridge on a holley setup would definetly get u in the 13's.. that was the case for my 84 gsl...

thanks for all the help, im ordering my new engine hopefully this week. one last question before i start the project, do the guys a fc3s.org do bridge porting, at their website it says they do stage 1 and stage 2 street ports for the na fc. and would this be a good idea for my application, which is auto cross and drag racing and street driving. http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_...roducts_id=117
