NA Fuel Pump on T2 Motor

Hey guys, i did a T2 Swap about a year ago, and I put off the drivetrain swap for later, well now im about ready to do the drivetrain swap and i started reading over some stuff as to what parts i needed etc and i read somewhere that I needed the T2 Fuel Pump before boosting with the T2 swap I did a year ago.

Now i never swapped my Fuel pump as i didnt realize that was an issue a year ago (I guess i assumed a stock fuel pump was a stock fuel pump) Anwyas its been running for a year now with no real issues, the boost has seemed a little low at times (Around 8psi with full 3" exhaust)

Now that i read that i'm worried for my wankel, I wanted to get 720 secondaries after my Drivetrain swap and was planning on going for a walbro at that time, should i go ahead and get the fuel pump first or do you guys think i'll be ok for about another year?

I'm amazed your engine hasn't popped actually. The NA fuel pump flows much less than the TII pump. At 3 bar (~45psi) it's about half as much, and it gets worse from there. There's a good thread that compares the two here: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/measured-flow-stock-tii-pump-524944/#post9154530. A walbro will work, but it will also overrun the stock FPR and cause idle and low throttle mixtures to be extra rich. An FD fuel pump would work better for your purposes.

I can get a brand new T2 fuel pump for like 130. Prob about half what the walbro or even FD would be. Will the stock t2 pump hold 720cc injecotrs and ultimately 300rwhp? Or will I need to go with the fd or walbro eventually.
Furthermore is there any modification required for FD pump?

I actually got my FD pump for $100, and it was a direct bolt in with no modification. If you aiming for 300hp get a walbro now and save yourself the expense. It is not that much more than $130 and much less if you find someone parting out their car.

Thanks for your kind responses and not just telling me to search, considering i found very little specifics on this when i did search.

How much will the stock FD be good for? Considering it has considerably more hp stock i would assume it would be good up to 300 (I ask this b/c i dont wanna get into upgrading my FPR and such just yet, just want the quick fix of a new fuel pump without worrying about detonation)

i think the fd is good up to that point. I was only aiming for 260 or 270 with high boost, but you will definitely need to ugrade the injectors. Meaning putting those 720s in the primary and get some 1600 for the secondary. That is what I plan to do at least.

I ran an N/a fuel pump for awhile too when i went turbo, FD fuel pump is a pretty cheap alternative, which is what got, i'd highly recommend it

I don't mean to jack this thread... but a buddy of mine was parting out a TII swaped na. And I needed the fuel sending unit for the gas gauge. He gave me a carter fuel pump the sending unit and the whole bracket that hold the pump.

My question is does anybody know anything about carter fuel pumps.?? carter fuel pump 3f16b176 that's the model number on it.

I searched like crazy even went to there site can't find anything.

The FD guys consider the stock pump to be good for roughly 300 whp, so it's perfect for modified TII engines w/ the stock turbo. Don't bother with a stock TII pump; like the NA pump it takes a dive when you drive the fuel pressure up (by increasing boost).

Ive had/seen carter fuel pumps for carb motors, which is very low psi. Never seen a high pressure carter pump.
