MO NA FC RX7 Transmission Stuck In Neutral

Hey guys and gals, as the title suggests my rebuilt transmission is stuck in neutral. I did some digging around and found a video with an FD with the exact same issue. Turned out one of the shift forks was out of sync, so I removed the tail shaft cover on the trans and sure enough one was pushed down all the way while the shifter was in neutral. I now have it where it needs to be and tested all the other gears to make sure t hey were still working. But I have a problem I can't figure out...

Putting the tail shaft cover back on while getting the shift linkage/rod back in it's proper location among the shift forks. Is there a trick to doing this? I tried to "swivel" the tail shaft cover around but there is some sort of long gully that gets in the way of me from turning it enough.

Pictures and or video on how to do this would be great! Thanks!!

Nevermind I figured it out! I found if I looked through the end of the tail shaft cover I could see the shift linkage/rod and the shift forks and was able to wiggle it enough to get it all in place. It's all back together and shifting like butter!

the shifter detent ***** and springs prevent multiple gates from being usable at the same time, so i would start there, you likely have some detent ***** or springs missing. if not then i suspect you have a synchro set not assembled correctly and binding up a gear, always check each gear synchro to make sure they lock and unlock properly before assembling.

next part should be self explanatory, always bench test a transmission before installing it.

also, creating a new thread is better than piggybacking off a 10 year old long since dead thread.
