na carbed fc sat for while

now its acting funny. I blew up the rear end and finally got around to swappin a lsd in there. It sat for about 9 months and I started it only a few times during this time. Now its all back together, battery completely dead but when I jump it I can get it to idle fine but it it revs up sloppy. I poured some MMO down the carb and let it sit over night then turned it over a little and did it again. Today I will change the plugs. I alredy checked the wires out and used alot of carb cleaner on the mikuni. If all this doesnt fix it what is the next thing I should look at? compression test? I dont think the motor is bad because its not shaking all over the place or anything its just very choppy going thru the rpms. Will a fresh battery help it out? Sorry for the long post but I need to be able to drive it about 10 miles to my nw house this weekend
Thanks guys

You will probably have better luck over in the 1st gen section. Most people here don't deal with carburetors.

If it sat for 9 months "wet", then you may need to pull the carb, disassemble, clean all the junk out of it and then reassemble.

Wet means it was left sitting with gas in it and it may have evaporated out leaving a gummy, varnish like residue that plugs up the workings of the carb. Run a can of Seafoam through the gas tank tank, preferably 1/4 or less of a tank.

MMO works well as a pre-mix, it doesn't do much for cleaning out gummed up carbs. Change your fuel filter and drain the old gas out of the tank too. Since it's only been 9 months, you might be to get by with a healthy dose of Sta-Bil.

Fwiw, I rebuild Mikunis. I can also powdercoat your upper and lower intake manifolds if you want to add a little bling to your engine bay. The following link is some of the work I've done to my 1st gen widebody.

MMO is about the worst thing you can possibly use as a premix. It's basically acetone, benzine and wax.
