N/a turbo

I am near the end of my N/A turbo project. When the intercooler piping arrives it will be complete. I have some body work still to finish the front lip, sideskirts, and rear aero guards. I hope to have it on the dyno by next weekend. I would like to make at least 230 to the wheels. Does that seem possible hear are the mods. Running 10 psi

Street port
TB mod
550’s all around, cleaned, flowed, tested by RC engineering
Gen 3 fuel pump
Stock turbo 2 manifolds, intake and exhaust
Stock S5 turbo with ported wastegate/ turbo tore down everything cleaned and seals replaced
2.5 homemade Dp
3 inch homemade exhaust 115 Apexi tip
NPR FMIC
Steel braided oil lines
Turbo XS BOV type s
Turbo XS Boost controller standard
HKS turbo timer type 0
Racing Beat FCD
Apexi super AFC 2
Royal purple synthetic oil 20w 50
Greddy TB elbow

Many more modes to the brakes, suspension, exterior, interior too much to list.

if u havent turned it on with all the stuff u added, i would just hope it runs right. plus u might have to tune ur timing and other shizite, so it runs right, dont get to far ahead. idk

Why? I was told that even the N/A ecu cuts fuel to the rear rotor at 8.6 psi and to run more boost than that I need a FCD. It never made much since but he owns a car shop that does mostly rotary performance and did an N/A turbo in one of his own cars and he told me a FCD would be necessary to run more boost.

When will you be at full boost by? Maybe some bigger secondaries. I'm in the process of this myself.

The NA ecu can't read boost. So, 8.6 psi, 10psi, 20 psi, it shouldn't be able to read it right?

Just get bigger injectors and tell the computer that you're recieving less air.

i have now herd two different stories about the ecu and a FCD so i dont know what to do. i would like to put some 720s in the secondary spot with an rtek 1.7 controlled by the Afc maybe later on down the road. so should i get rid of the FCD?

The guy that owns the shop is an idiot period, stop listening to him. The NA coup ECU can not see boost ever! The NA coup ECU does not see boost therefore it does not pull back timing the NA ECU does not read boost therefore the pressure sensor will run it crazy. There is one exception and only one on this situation. The 1988 vert N338 ECU will control a TII or turbo motor properly. You still must swap the turbo pressure sensor and AFM. A FCD can only be used on a TII ECU it is not needed on the N338 it does not cut fuel at 8psi. The Rtek is also for TII ECU only.

He would be really close to 230whp with stock 550s. Note he has to upgrade his fuel pump and a walboro 255 will help here,

i think you should be a little higher at 10 psi.... well maybe not considering he has 550's..
yeah, rip out the FCD and sell it!! buy a rtek 1.7 tII AFM and boost sensor and itll run much better... i was runnin a stock n/a ecu and had many hesitation problems until i swtiched to the tII componets.. i still got some city hesitation issues but i think its my tps..

^ Unplug your TPS if it still does it, then its a ground issue. If it stops then its your TPS.

so i need to find a rtek 1.7, some 720's, turbo 2 ecu, AFM and pressure sensor and i should be better off? well looks like i an on the hunt for some parts. will i be able to hit 250hp to the wheels with set up right. If i do switch to turbo ecu and pressure sensor i will then need the FCD right. or does the rtek do that?

the rtek has a built in FCD... no tricking ECU... youll be better off with the tII electronics because you get boost retard from the rtek and it will idle better with the 550's.... mine ran much better with just the stock tII ECU... ive yet to get an rtek also....
yes you should hit 250.... do your parts hunt and youll be much happier... more drivability...especially at city situations.....

All 720cc injectors are low impedance.

FCD will not work on an NA ECU and indeed it's not required.

4x 550cc is technically enough with higher pressure (upgraded pump) but I would not recommend it. You're going to want to install larger secondaries (ie. 720).

I did not read this whole thread, but just the words above.

A turbo ECU is plug and play with S4 as long as you use a turbo boost/pressure sensor with it. I've driven my 86 n/a like that for grins, for some time.

EDIT: OOPS. Read some of the thread. A turbo'd n/a. Get a turboII ECU, boost sensor and afm with 550 injectors all the way around. I wouldn't buy a RTEK until you make sure you can get what you have running decent.

they should fit... theres a center piece i had shaved off on the injector to fit into my plug for s4... im not really sure if the plug is the same.... you also need to wire in resistors since the injectors will be low imp.

Low impedence injectors (ie GSL-SE injectors or most others) will NOT fit a s5 harness. The S5 harness has oval plugs, most low-imp large injectors use square. Though, did/are you doing any of this work yourself or paying someone to do it? If you're doing it yourself, I'd strongly suggest stopping and leaving the car as it is until you know a bit more about it and the things your changing out.

so are you saying i cant put 720's in an S5 because the plugs arent the same. i have two injector plugs that are square and two resistors put those in the place of the oval plugs. so whats the problem?
