n/a tranny problem

TN n/a tranny problem

i just bought my 1st RX7 a few weeks ago and i have a problem. my transmission is whinning in N , 1st , 2nd and 3rd but doesnt in 4th or 5th. it also doesnt whin when i push the clutch in, so im wondering if it might be the throw out bearing.

im new to this site so dont know anyone. im from middle tn and my name is Brett. this my first rotary car so ill be asking many more questions.

This sounds like your transmission has a main bearing that is going bad.

If it is not super loud its fine to drive for a bit till you source a replacement transmission. And don't worry, n/a trans are super cheap.

Basically what he said above. The transmission is wearing out. It may be fine for another 100K, it may die in a few weeks. If the noise stays consistent over a week or so without increasing in volume or changing, then you are probably fine for the long term. Put some synthetic oil in the transmission and just live with it.
