N/A Trailing coil on TII?
Trending Topics
im going out on a limb here and guess even over there they did away with the dizzy with the turbo models.. assuming that, all FC coils are the same if it does not use a dizzy. leading and trailing are different but they are interchangable otherwise between all years from '86-91.
in layman's terms, there is no "turbo" or "non turbo" or series specific coils.

I've used the same leading and trailing coil packs from when I was running the N/A 13B up until now with a TII swap. Go ahead and spend the money on what you think is a different coil pack.
it is EUROPE that got the spastic s3 dizzy in the s4 car
AUSTRALIA was the FIRST market to get FULL ECU both TURBO and NA
( turbos being avail in RHD a year ( 86 ) before the US LHD units ( 87 ) )
the pics are lifted from my australian N318 turbo training supplement, now online
anyone in aus ,US or canada turbo AND NA can walk out to their bay and marvel that the trailing coil pack has the n326 code on it and the leading has the n318 code
( a model variant never released in the US )

I lifted the jpgs from the series four training manual that NZCONVERTIBLE made available online years ago.
So you you have the distributor instead of CAS and no coil assys that have the ignitor included inside them.
So you use a coil switched on/off by the ECU I suppose. In my opinion.....a coil is a coil is a coil and it wouldn't matter if it was na or turbo.
On a USA version, like mentioned waay above on another post...........the na and turbo coil assy's are the same item . I suspect the European plain ole coils are swappable also. Just my opinion.

the turbo section was hosted on fox.net only recently via arghx
( whom i sent all the scans and you can see my notes scribbled ad hoc through them )

as is the hanshin oil filled round coils have a primary resistance of 0.8 ohms
the FC electronic leading coil is around 0.2 ohms and is ballasted up to 0.8 ohm,, and trailing coils are also 0.8 ohms
the ecu driving any of these coils will essentially see the same electrical and heat load at the driver
however,, the secondary winding count on the E or C core type coils is often more efficient
,, and so i would expect higher discharge voltages at a shorter duration than the oil filled coils
ie,, the E coils will light off a boosted charge more consistantly and so prove a better choice
however,, all of this is mute,,
as any US,OZ,JAP FC with stock ecu is going to need the FC trailing E coil for its "flop" trigger select , TTL signal driven igniter pack
