N/A-TII Swap

I know this has been beaten into the ground, but I have a few quick questions. I have an '88 GXL, I just got a JDM front clip with engine/tranny/ecu/wiring harness, I also got a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump. I have the LSD rear end, can I use that with my current driveshaft? They're both 5 speeds. Or, would I have to go find a TII drive shaft and TII rear end? I saw soemthign about using an auto drive shaft, but got kinda lost. Any help/constructive critisism is welcome.

You either need a Turbo rearend a dn drive shaft or you can buy Mazdatrix's hybrid drive shaft which will bolt up to the NA rearend and the TII tranny.

That's what I bought for my conversion.

or get a auto drive shaft. I don't think you will have your half shafts long doing it that way though. I have blow half shafts on my t2 vert with t2 half shafts. I hate to think of what NA ones that are half in size. I would try it just to get it going but don't expect to race it around with NA rear end and half shafts.

Yeah I'm wondering how long the rearend will hold.

I'm expecting 220ish FWHP.

I plan to take it easy for a while any ways since it's a fresh rebuild.

Later on I might go for a TII rearend. Maybe some day when I'm down in Tucson so Jrat can help me hehe

Well, I just found an auto driveshaft for 60 bucks. I think I'll just get that until I can afford the TII rear end. I'll just keep it mellow for a while. Also, someone said that since it's a JDM clip, the wiring harness won't reach. Is that true? And if so, how hard is it to pull a steering column/rack/etc...?

The driveshaft won't be a perfect fit. It will be short by and in or two.

I'm pretty sure you'll need a Aspec harness or will need to do some rewiring of the jspec since it is positioned opposite.

Well, since I have the entire front clip, including strut/steering column/all that jazz, I was thinking about just making it RHD. How much extra work would that be? It's just a thought right now. 1-I think it'd be unique, 2-It's pretty much plug 'n play with the harness. 3-It'd be cool and pretty unique. :0)

RHD conversion is a bitch.

You'll need the whole dash and welding comes to mind.
