n/a to t2 questions :0)

Hi all. Im close to starting my t2 swap (s4) and I have 2 questions.

1. Where is the pressure sensor on t2 engines? I know I have to make sure I move it over from the donor vehicle but I dont know what it is / looks like? Is it in the intake?

2. Does the s4 t2s use backpressure to open the 5 and 6 ports? I am thinking about using a e-cutout (it basically opens up the exhaust before the cat / mufflers) to get the best boost response and such. Here is the basic idea.

http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/index.php

What do you guys think? Instead of spending 400$ on an exhaust, just get that? Sounds nifty and I like buttons / switches :0)

Thanks.

1. If you mean the manifold pressure sensor, it same place as the non turbo, bolted onto the passengers strut tower.

2. Turbos don't have aux ports. They are 4 port motors.

ok so I should be fine with no backpressure, and no air pump correct?

you would need an air pump to pass emissions, and to maintain the health of the cat converter.

So, yes all turbo motors come with air pumps.

Well, my N/a hasnt EVER had the air pump working, because the pipe going to the cat is full of ... metal... hehe someone welded it shut. and as far as I know the cat is fine. (just back fires / shoots flames. :0) But I dont care about emissions or cat health (since its already been roasted.)

So if there are no other reasons, I will just leave it out.

Can I use my N/As alternator, pa, AC, and things like that or when I put in the t2 engine make sure I get a large block?

If your car is shooting flames you have no cat or the cat is burnt through.

yes you can use your alt, PS pump, and A/C from a non turbo. Just stick with the same series
