simple yes or no question. i need a alternator...ebay has some cheap ones, but they don't mention being for turbo just 86-92. Are the na/t2 alternators same and interchangable?

thanks

If S4 na and TII are the same, why does Mazdaformance list two different ones?

Bunch of people don't know in this thread answering (shakes head).

There are 4 different alternators for the FC, Turbo and Non Turbo S4 and Turbo and Non Turbo S5.

The S4 models are basicly interchangeable, but the T2 alt case is slightly smaller. But much like the S5 alts, it will however bolt in just fine.

The S5 models are 10 amps more peak output (80 amps peak, vs 70 amps peak for the S4 versions) however the plugs are entirlly different than the S4 or even the Turbo and Non Turbo versions. They can be used in the S4 models, but you will need to locate a plug, or custom build your own adapter out of electrical slide connector hardware.

BTW: the FD alt uses the same plug as the 89-91 non turbo, but again the FD alt is considerably bigger and has a different pully.
