ok so my tranny went out a few months ago and long story short i need a new one. i just bid on one on eBay not thoroughly looking at the auction and it turns out that i bid on a series 5 (1988) tranny from a vert. well i have a N/A series 4 (1987) GXL and i was wondering if the vert tranny will fit the GXL. thanks guys.

 

it will work. you might need to swap the crossmber. i forget.

 

ok wonderful! i herd the vert trannys were a bit more beefy too. i have the stock cross member so i should be good then. thanks for the help!
