Exclamation N-E 1 Have step by tep, pics & diagrams/ How to: Fuel pump relay/switch?

Hi.. I have owned my Fc s4 gxl RX7 for about 2 months... and i need help with the fuel pump relay switch. ( I never knew about "Flooding" b4 owning the 7)

Does anyone have a write up with pictures, diagrams and a step by step, how to..?

I already bought the materials for this project...
Wires
Rocker switch
Soder
Electrical Tape

I guess my problem is:
I'm not sure which wire to cut/splice
I bought a rocker switch with a light on it..( to inform me me what is on/off)
I'm confused, there are 2 positives and one negitive attachment(s). How do i do this without messing anything up?

thanks

thanx but i'm still having a bit of trouble understanding about the wiring.
the instructions you gave uses a simpler switch.

I have 2 positives and one negitive.

I need to know how to wire "from the splice" and "to the rocker"
some pictures or a diagram would really help out a lot.

thanx

your switch has terminals and a ground for the built in light. look at the package that came with it it will tell you what terminal does what on your switch

Mazdatrix has a Bleedoff Kit..you put it between the lines..it takes the pressure of the Injectors when the car is not being used.It is supposed to stop the Flooding issue, due to Leaky Injectors..sort of a Band aid fix, without Ripping the engine down to change injectors..here it is http://www.mazdatrix.com/c-bleed.htm...I hope that is why you were asking about the Fuel pump relay Kit.

That bleed kit is a piece of ****, no offense to mtrix. I find that it lowers fuel pressure across the board, and it still doesnt remedy the flooding issue. All it does is bypas the fuel pressure regulator by hooking the fuel supply to the fuel return. This lets the extra pressure drain down the return instead of stay in the rails.

However, the MAJORITY of flooding issues are due to LOW ENGINE COMPRESSION and not due to leaky injectors anyway.

This pic the Circuit Opening Relay that turns off the fuel pump if the engine stalls. It’s a located under the dash next to the steering column and has a yellow base.

The B wire (black with a white stripe) is the power supply and the Fp wire (blue with a red stripe) goes to the fuel pump. The switch can go into either of these wires, it doesn’t matter which. Simply cut the wire, extend each cut end to your chosen switch location using the same or thicker gauge wire and terminate them onto the switch. Note that the STA wire is also black with a white stripe, but it’s thinner. Make sure you get the right wire.
