The MYstery bottle!!!!

I have this bottle in my car... and I've looked and looked in the FSM but cannot find what it is!

It is the MYSTERY BOTTLE!!!!

Wouldn't bother me but it's bone dry, and filled with MYstery!

So here's what it is.

IT is mounted on the firewall, on the left hand side if you're facing the car, a little under and behind the Charcoal Canister.

It has 2 tops, one in at a slight angle and is a screw on cap with a holder cord so it doesn't get lost.

The other looks like a cap on an overflow bottle, except one line runs off and behind/into the engine, the other runs into some kind of valve mounted under the Mystery bottle.

Now my theory... and it's a **** poor one, is that it's somehow related to the AC that was removed from the car amny years ago, and this bottle was just kinda left.

But I really have no idea.

What is it?

Part of the coolant system? I kinda doubt it but possible.
Emergency beverage storage?

I can post pics later if someone doesn't just come on and Newb slap me with what it is.

It's part of the cold start assist. It's useless, and most people throw it away (after blocking off it's port on the intake manifold)

it is a coolant injection selenoid, Mazda says to remove it it is called the "sub-zero starting blah blah blah" mazda said it was unneeded and it is safe to remove it...

it injected coolant into the engine on cold start-ups... supposed to help it turn over in sub-zero weather, however it really makes no difference i believe...

Excuse me, it's called the sub-zero starting assist device. It's on page 4B-90 (or 4A-87) of the FSM.
