Mystery Beep of Death
Ok, I recently got an 86 GXL, and have a beep my friends call 'the mystery beep of death'. It will come on seemingly randomly, chiming 5 times, pausing for about a second, and chiming 5 times etc.... it will go on like that for 5 to 10 minutes. It seem to not happen at all when the car is cold, and happens less often when the car is at WOT. The shift light doesn't work (it's perminently on when the car is running; the buzzer is disconnected), but the tach works well. Could it be related?

5-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of steering sensor signal: Steering sensor is mis-aligned or failed or steering wheel has been improperly installed.
