Mysterious scraping sound while backing up.

Figure this one out.

Problem:
Repetitive metallic scraping noise

Happens when:
Car is moving backwards with clutch engaged.

Does not happen while coasting backwards, only with clutch engaged. Doesn't seem to be transmission related becuase the frequency of the noise is not fast enough to equal the rpm of the input shaft or transmission output. The frequency sounds like it matches rpm at the wheels, but again, it does not happen when I am just coasting backwards, only when under power.

VERY CONFUSING

Anyone experience this before?

One my RX's does that too, it's just the brake pads dragging.
And, my vert makes a dragging noise too, but that is the new drains for the top.

If it's the pads, how does it only do that when the clutch is engaged?

In case anyone else ever has this problem, and searches for it...

The sound was coming from bad drive shaft U-joints.
