mysterious RX7 .... non-starting question

theres this guy selling a 91 NA around my area for $700. he says the car has been sitting in his driveway for just about a year. he told me that it just wouldnt start one day.

i checked it out the car, everything electronically works.
but i noticed that when i turn the key to start it. i get nothing. lights are on and all...its like the connectors for the ignition are shot. it will turn but you dont even hear anything. no cranking, no clicks. no starter grinding.

any one have any ideas?

btw, it has ~130,000mi on the clock.

Loose connection grounding out?

Try jumping the car from a running one.

my car does that every now and then. i just turn the key like 3 times until it catches and wala lol. its the ignition switch, i bet he had some weight on the keys and the pressure screwed it up. try useing the key alone and prop it up a little... hope this works

The engine might be seized from sitting so long, How long ago did the owner crank it?

If the engine were seized the lights would dim from trying to turn it over.

You may want to check the starter solenoid as well. Have a friend turn the key while you check voltage at the starter. If it gets voltage, it's probably the solenoid.
