Is this my u- joint?

Hey guys, I've noticed that when I'm in b umper to bumper traffic and I shift into first to move up a couple feet, then when I go to stop by pressing the clutch in and hitting the brake I hear this wobble/ clap noise. I'm just wondering if this is the u-joint or if its something else?

could be the front differential mount. It is a common failure point, and I thought I had bad Ujoints for an age before i discovered the real problem.

this is easy.......

get under the car, if the U-joints are super loose.....get new ones.

If not, then inspect your diff mounts while you're under there.

well, if it only happens on STOP AND GO then it's most likely the differential mount..............if the car vibrates while driving (40 mph, 60mph) then it's the U-joint and you need to fix it ASAP or this could happen to you: (yes, that sexy beard is me)

If you take it to a competent driveshaft shop, they can get it balanaced out fine afterwards. I've had my TII shaft done without any problems.

Otherwise find another complete shaft from a wrecker/for sale section/parts car

Madrx7racer - DAYUM, thats a cryin' shame!!

That sucks man. Yeah, I've checked the u-joints a few times in the past few weeks and still see no play in them, but no one's ever suggested the diff. mount. I'll def check that. Unfortunately, I have to wait till tomorrow to check them because I have a quiz in my chem tomorrow. I'm hoping they won't damage themselves too badly in the 70 mile ride to and from. Commuting sucks...
