I'm not sure if anyone has dyno'ed an NA turbo with the working sleeves.

With the sleeves removed, the intake charge must slam into a dead end and then reverse upon itself to climb the lip through the port. With the sleeves, this effect is much less.

There have been many long drawn out arguments about removing the sleeves in an NA application. Time and time agin the conclusion is that there are no gains when we're talking about stock ports.

That was me posting at hondahaters house, and I have dyno'd with sleeves (both using boost pressure to open them, and then trying to vary them based upon RPM), though without the pineapple sleeves even with the sleeves in they still have that effect of running into a wall, I would agree it'd be much better to have pineapple sleeves somehow permanently installed without the pins/hardware attatched held in the open poisition. Everytime I dyno'd in a boosted setup I noticed loss in the upper band, the average was around 10whp loss through most of the band after about 5k rpm, nothing too great, but still noticable. The torque curve would shift about 100rpm sooner, opening them around 3K rpm (though, there's only about 1k rpm to view this, below that the benefit could be more, but who does much below 2K rpm?). With an N/A setup though, they're definatly beneficial.

So ignoring dyno numbers, has anyone done a 1/4 mile test with and without the sleeves? Because it seems like in the end, that is what would matter...

anyway, my hat is off to you, Jeff.

i admire your skill (welding ) and your end results. don't mind the people that live to tear you down. i think there are still plenty of us that offer a sincere thumbs up and pat on the back.

ok fine, so i suck at welding :-P. Seriously though, i'd like to thank everybody for the feedback i've gotten so far. It's nice to know that there are so many other people out there who understand the amount of work that goes into these kinds of projects. :-D
