have you tried turning the manual crank? It's just behind the sunroof.

yeah... you could force it.... but it would also break it.... try the crank.... but it could jst be jammed up and needs a little love.... but what are the symptoms? does the motor sound like its trying..... or no motor sound at all? and if it does try.... does it move with "help" ? ive dismantled a few of these... so..... BTW... they are really easy to pull out of the car, without to much trouble.... and swap in a newish one that you might buy from a forum member for cheap. reeeeeeaaly easy

I too had problems with my sunroof on the T2 I just bought. The motor would try to lift the roof but even with help it wouldnt budge. I took the whole thing out and inspected the "screws" that push and pull each side of the tracks and discovered that one was broken and so it wasnt pulling on one side. I ended up replacing the whole unit.

If the motor tries to turn but the roof doesnt move I would suspect you are in the same boat, BUT if you take the whole thing out and squirt some Pb Blaster down in the tubes that the screws sit in then you may be able to break it loose if its just rusted and jammed.

If the motor doesnt make any noise at all then it could be the motor or the switch. We would really need more info to help you figure this out further.

Well a Turbo II I am about to get in a few days has a similar problem. The sunroof doesn't work because it's off the track (even though the motor works fine apparently), so when you try to open it it would make some noise). The seller estimated that it would cost $100 to get it fixed, or you could do it yourself. If your problem turns out to be the same as mine, please let me know how you fix it.
