Is my starter or alternator going?
Is my starter or alternator going?
Sup i just got my car back on the road, went thru 4 tranny swaps and finally got a good one. The car was auto and not its 5speed, so i had to get the crossmember welded on with a special bracket. Ever since my cars been sitting outside for a while a number of problems have arised.
the car takes about 10 seconds or more to start after its been off for a day. But after i start it up that day its starts up after 3 or 4 seconds.
Also the sensor for 5th / reverse broke off where can i get a new one (mazdatrix dont have it, from what i loooked at)
EDIT: Also when my cars idling and i give it gas , it boggs right before returning to idle is that normal ( i do have an exhaust leak , missing the left canister lol)

#1 your picture in your signature exceeds the height allowed by the admins, by about 118 pixels. Please fix it before it is deleted.
#2 Sounds like you have low compression. What is the compression on the motor???
#3 the same reverse switch can be found at any mazda dealer, it is a pretty common part as the same switch is used in the FD, NA, NB, and a couple of other mazdas.

#2. Can the compression go down that much by not driving the car. It was totally fine before i did the tranny swap.
# 3. what is it called exactly, its just the 5th /reverse switch?

I've gone to them and they can never fiond the part number. Do you by chance know what it is or a service manual that actually shows it(for a TII tranny)?
As a temp solution I ended up getting an oil drain plug from Ace Hardware which plugged it. It would be nice to have reverse lights.
