try disconnecting the battery cable to resest the ECU and the SAFC, also make sure your tps is functioning correctly

do you have it setup right or not? that is the first place to start. Then test your TPS with a volt meter. Then search about the S-AFC learning.

Have we checked to see if there is actually something PHYSICALLY wrong in the throttle areA?

yes. the throttle plates are closed, the plungers on the TPS are fine and everything moves as it should.

TPS. also i have never been able to get my TPS to read down to factory specs (.6-.9 kohms) for the widerange. i cant get it below 1.27.... how the hell do i get it down under 1.0? is there anything else i can adjust other than the "TPS adjust screw" ? cause that seems to adjust in very fine increments. like is there another screw i can turn for bigger adjustment?

nope, the throttle plates are closed but the TPS's wont get down far enough for some reason... i've tried adjusting 3 screws on the throttle body and none of them have gotten the resistance down anywhere near .9 kohms

yeah well my safc reads my rpm's at about 6-7% lower than my tach does. thats like 500 rpm low by the time you get to 8000. so there.

edit: oh i have a friend who's safc does that as well...uh...not to threadjack but anyone know why that might be

sounds like a bad tps, you should be able to turn to screw and get it to 1k ohms if you can't then its most likly a bad TPS....but then again I am not to familiar with the S5 TPS unit

if it just happened today you need to recheck your wiring/connections at the safc/engine harness

now my car wont ****** start, the SAFC only has power half the time (dont know how thats possible since its soldered to the ECU power wire) AND if i DO get it started, it will idle for 5 seconds then die.

i hate my life.

SAFC will not light up now. i wired it VIA scott89T2's HOWTO, both grond wires on pin 3C. i get no power, but the orange buttons light up.

so the SAFC has no power, which means i have no AFM, which explains why my car wont run...

you should be able to bypass the safc if you just connect the air/fuel wires to each other, and see if it the safc causeing the problem

did you move the safc at all? the flimsy POS cable on it can come unplugged inside the safc VERY easily. simple tugging can loosen/unplug it even when you don't think you've pulled that hard. take off the 4 screws on the back of yours and check it. i checked mine before i even installed it (got it used) and it was already unplugged. my buddy was moving his and it came unplugged too..took him forever to figure out what was wrong with it.
