my SAFC is not saving the settings.

my SAFC keeps going back to the default every time i start my car. sometimes it will save the settings, but rarely.
is there some kind of internal batter that needs replacing? every time i get in my car i have to play with the safc for 5 minutes to get it back to the way it was before i turned the car off.

Hmm.. I have an S-AFCII, although I didn't install it. Do you know where the power was connected to? Does it need power all the time? Mine keeps its settings (where I last left it monitoring, etc.) but it doesn't come on until its in "ON".

I dunno.

Are you talking about the actual changing of fuel.. or just which part you were monitoring (rev, throttle, 1 or 2 channel... etc)

i am talking about everything. its like i just hooked up the power wire every time i turn the key to ON. the little apexi logo pops up, then it goes to the main screen and i have to re-enter all the settings (AFM, graph scale, fuel, throttle settings, etc)
anyone else having this problem? also,my throttle signal is stuck at 11-12% at idle...

even if you disconnect the battery if should retain settings. I'd say something could be wrong with the insides.

I understand the S-AFC's memory does not require power to retain it's settings. Sounds like a faulty unit to me.

As far as I can remember, it doesn't need a constant 12v power to save the settings, (like a stereo) it just need to charge the internal battery for a little bit.
Crap.. you may haev a bad battery.
SO, not hard to fix. Just get the specs on the battery, order one from an electrocincs wholesaler (lots online) desolder the old one and solder in the new one.
