so I got my first rex 3 months ago and for pretty cheap but the guy just said it wouldn't start so we towed it away and attempted to fix it...well after quite a while we finally found out that the engine was blown and so we sent away for a rebuild...

so the rebuild guy says 3 weeks till he can start... sick... oh well...worth the wait...so we wait and the day comes when he is supposed to ship the engine...well... the courier never showed up that day...so the next day he calls adifferent company to ship it and so they come and pick it up on a flat bed and so mondya it should be here (the day he was first supposed to ship it was thursday) so monday comes and no engine...so we phone the guy and he goes "what?!" and he tells us he'll call us right back...so he calls back and the company messed up the paperwork so they couldn't ship it so he tells them they will ship it for free then and they say no and get into an argument...so later on that day our engine gets dropped back off at his shop...well then the 1st courier calls and said his wife had a baby on thursday and so he couldn't make it so then the guy that's rebuilding it pays extra 70 bucks for overnight shipping so they ship it on tuesday and wednesday rolls around and guess what? no engine...so we phone the guy and he phones the guy and they say "oh, well your city is in the next 'region' so overnight shipping is two days...great, thanks buddy...oh well...so thursday rolls around and the engine finally makes it...so then between thursday and today (friday) we have the whole engine back together and in the car! hooray...

well it starts up the first time but won't idle and was having problems but we tow it around and it starts to run and it was idling for a bit but all bouncy like around 1100-1500 rpms and if you turn on the A/C, it doens't stall but instead it jumps to 2500...so later on I go back to the car and start her up and she goes into cold start and then stalls as soon as she's done it...won't idle...but if I keep my foot on the gas right, she still is bouncing, but the AC doesn't affect it anymore...

but I was just curious if anyone could give some tips on getting a rebuild going good...I tried searching but it was more for getting it started and the car starts first time every time now except for once, but I have the fuel cutoff switch we made when we had the old engine so it started the second time, but it's not flooding anymore

vacuum leaks? we were really careful putting it together and I don't think that's it...could it be timing or what?

any help is appreciated...flame if you have to...sorry though...I've driven the car once on a blown engine since I've had it for 3 months...I'm pretty anxious to get it going.
