My radio wont work and my BATTERY meter is at 16!

My meter shows 14 when im idling, but as soon as I accelerate the meter jumps to 16, and my radio wont work. I inspected the battery and noticed **** came out of the overflow things at the top of the battery. My alternator and my battery are both brand new, I got them 2 weeks ago.

if there is no power to the radio at all, there is a fuse blown somewhere. whether it be a part of the radio, or along with all of the other fuses by the kick panel.

if there is power and no sound, make sure there are no speaker wires touching any kind of metal on the car.

good luck with it

I would double check the voltage with a good Digital Multi meter. If it really is running at 16 volts you will be having other problems as well.

Some high power aftermarket radios and amps will shut off if the voltage exceeds 15.5 volts.

while ur car is running or not running pop the hood and check out the battery...if it looks bulgy for rounded on the sides... get a new battery.....also...the voltage regulator in the alternator may be shot and is overcharging the battery..this causes thebattery to explode
