My new toy (PICS)

Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who helped me in my previous threads about purchasing an RX-7. Because of your advise, I was able to get a pretty decent deal on a VERY sweet car.

Stats:
'88 RX-7 GXL
130,000k Miles
2 previous owners
pretty much all stock

Mods(mostly little junk):
Tint
Spoiler
Kenwood eXcelon head unit
Alpine v12 amp
Kicker 12" sub in ThunderBox
Alpine rear house speakers

The car runs very well. There's a slight dent on the front passenger side which im contemplating to fix. It's both my first car, and my one true love. The inside needs some work. The console is in about 10 pieces... all barely held together with some elbow grease... but I am getting a carbon fiber piece to replace all of it, and I have plans to add an lcd screen which would be connected to a DVD in my glovebox. I also plan to get new wheels, new exhaust, intake, headers, new speakers(yes, my sub box is massive, i know)

On with the pictures!

Any and all comments/suggestions are welcome

just my opinion....

lose the sub, use the amp for mids and highs, and relocate the cd player up about 2.75 inches. It's a lot easier to reach and load cds especially when in 5th!

You're car looks good!

I plan to get rid of that sub, and get 2 more in a smaller box...
and the whole stereo dash area will be totally different. when I get my c/f, I'm relocating the logicon to the very bottom. then I'm putting the head unit in the middle, aligned with the top of my shifter for easy access... then a 5.6" lcd will be mounted at the top. Well, that's how I picture the whole thing anyway... when I get everything, I might have to tweak some ideas.

it looks nice, except for the sub....that's looks ghetto...the box being tied down with the seat belts...

Do something about it.

Oh yeah... I have a 12" sub and it sounds 100x better then my friends 15". There's no comparing the sound... But the box isn't too functional for someone who's always hauling everyone's junk around. I'm thinking of making my own box to mount two 12"s in. Once I get another sub, I'll sell the box... Keep in touch and i'll give you first dibs on it. The reason those straps are around it is because the corner of the box is about a cm from the hatch window... im afriad (as was the previous owner) that if i went over too big a bump and that lifted, my hatch would shatter. May not look nice, but it's functional. My new bx sould be mounted in there tho, and take up much less space. Thanks for the suggestions and such

The Big glass hatchbeack REALLY amplifies bass!!
We don't need big subs- I have one 8" in a thunder box like yours, and it's more than enough- I want something smaller.
That sub and amp is taking about .1 sec off your 1/4 time!!
I like those factory rims... wish I could find some.

I'm not too worried about 1/4 mile times. I'm not too big with racing my car. I'm afraid I'd abuse her.

go with those kicker square subs in the ultrasmall box. Make sure there the competition grade, not the crappy elcheapo model.

Light weight and good bass

Don't mount your amp on the box like that. Some crackhead breaks the back window for that sub, they get an amp as a bonus.

Bolt that big box down to the floor really well - in the event of a head on or even a panic stop you have a 200lb missile sitting right behind your head!

The pinstripe is gone too. Probably been repainted or replaced.

I always liked that rear spoiler. About the only one I'd replace mine with.
