My new TII... Whudaya think?
Here is the 90 TII that I bought last week. Its in pretty nice shape. Is does have a few flaws...
1. 1 rotor has 0 compression
2. 1" holes cut in the doors for tweeters
3. a couple small dings on the car... nothing major.
4. gotta remove that gayass white sticker above the "Turbo II" on the fenders
I think this will be a fun engine to rebuild
Let me know what you think of my new hooptie!!

VERY nice... you should be happy!
Put a new motor in it, keep it clean, and you'll have one hell of a nice Rx-7 there!
...Then mod the hell out of that gold S4.

Take that Rotary Pro-pak off the redaitor shroud while you have the engine out, mount it up in front of the radiator, under the plastic cover peices.. You need to make some brackets up, but, it will get it away from engine heat.. which is BAD for ignitions!!

I paid $1000 for the car. Good idea with the ignition box. I hate looking at it there on the fan shroud. The s4 GXL next to it is just going to be sold. I cant afford to fix up both of them. The s4 was my project car until i found this s5 TII. Thanks for the nice comments on my car!

Yep It turned out to be a great deal for the car. The car has high miles (141k) but its been kept immaculately clean. Also, the service history is sickening. I have never seen a more thorough history on a car before. The guy that had it would only buy new mazda parts for it. He paid over $700 just for an AFM!! Oil was changed every 500-1k miles lol. He noted that in 98 the oil level wasnt dropping anymore (meaning the oil wasnt being injected into the rotors) and that eventually killed it. Now i just have to figure out if i want to rebuild, or get a reman engine.

This will be the first rotary that i have ever taken apart. Im just hoping it wont be too hard. I have built many piston motors so hopefully the rotary wont be too hard. I have no idea how to streetfport a motor. There is NO shops here that work on rotaries so im on my own. I guess i will read up on rebuilding and see what little mods i can do to the motor.

Oh yeah, what do you guys think this car would be worth once i get the motor rebuilt? Its in great shape with a couple small dings, nice leather interior, factory CD/tape, etc... Everything is stock besides the tweeter holes in the doors, and the ignition box.

well if you rebuild the motor.... i dunno.
but if you get it built from someone was a good rep then it should be worth 4k easy. stock as can be, with a low mile motor....
ill give you $524.39 for it in food stamps right now tho.

No, i plan on keeping this thing stock. Maybe a few mods to the engine to get some extra power. But i dont want to change ANYTHING about the looks of the car. There are not many bone stock, clean S5 TII's running around.
P.S. Thanks to everyone for the nice comments about my TII!!

Yeah, i scoured the newpapers and internet for a few months trying to find a clean 7. I gave up about a month ago as I wasnt finding ****. Then, I was bored one night and checked cars.com one last time and there it was. Exactly what I was looking for. A nice looking project car. I just got really lucky i guess.
