My new rx7(pictures)

Hi,this is my second car and I bought it from a friend for 500 bucks, it runs pretty solid, the only problem so far is that the clutch master cylinder needs to be replaced, and 2nd gear grinds if above 3500 rpms

oh, and thats not me in the pictures, its the previous owner

good deal, clutch slave cylinder is easy to change out, its on top of the tranny behind the engine upper intake manifold. Its cheap too, find one at the junk yard or order one online. The tranny you can find for anywhere from 300-600 bucks. Its easy to change teh tranny too, just unbolt it from the engine, unbolt the center tranny bracket ,unpluge all teh wires, and cables, and take out the drive shaft and itll slide back out.

500 bucks for arunning car is a super deal.

Check the 2nd Gen Parts Section on this board. I'm sure you can find the part you need on here.

Other sites that have RX-7 parts, but are expensive because they are new.

Mazdatrix
http://www.mazdatrix.com/index.htm#Home@new

Black Dragon Auto
http://www.blackdragonauto.com/

and of course Ebay

I have experience with purchasing from all four. Never have had a problem with shipping/quality.

ya, i just picked up my car for 500$ just to turn around and do a motor swap. good deal, as far as the tranny is concerned, it sounds like a ground down gear probably from ricer shifting it (not you obviously). good luck man, i have a CRAP load of parts for sale up in norcal, mazdatrix, respeed, and blackdragon auto will keep your parts flowing in if you got the $$$!

peace

Whats that sensor on the top of the radiator next to where the upper radiator hose connects? There should be a plug there for when you add antifreeze, instead there's a sensor with a red connector? Did the previous owner re route the coolant sensor to there instead? hmm. Its a great car for 500 though. nice find
