TII-AHOLIC:
Are those Advan A046? Off an Evo? What size and did you have to roll fenders? And what kinda paint did you use? Duplicolor? if so, was there a metal flake finish to it??

Other than the colour I've now got the exact same setup. Mustang Gt wheels and Bridgestone RE070's. I just picked up the tires today, I paid a lot more, but they were basically brand new, you can still see the marks on the tread surface from the injection of the rubber when making of the tires. The guy bought the car in the winter and took the tires off right away to put snows on. I'll have to wait untill spring to use them, but my dad's freing with an STi loves them. Good grip, withstands track abuse well, and lasts quite long too for such a high performance tire. The NASIOC board is a good place to look for some slightly used ones.

My tires are not too bad, they still have 8/32nd tread left....about only 4000 miles on them so far. Let me tell you though man....i thought i put new springs in, thats how stiff the sidewalls are on these... you'll enjoy them! good choice. BUT like i said my fronts rub a little or a lot depending on my driving...

LOL funny story, the guy putting on the tires checked the size 3 times because he swore they were 16 inch tires because it wasn't sliding onto the rim, again really stiff sidewalls.

i saw this thread and i found this kinda odd, i have three things in common with you:

1. i used to run 03 cobra wheels on my turbo II. before that it was 95 gt wheels. (now its 300zx TT, they're lighter than cobras)

2. i painted my stock TII wheels bronze (they dont look near as good, what kind of clear is that?)

3. i just bought an 88 gxl the same color as yours last friday night.

your car looks amazing, i cant get over the color combo.

Hey thanks for the compliments...

I used Duplicolor High Performance Wheel Paint Clear. 1/2 bottle per wheel. 2 light coats, followed by a med/heavy coat. Do the back first, so you don't get overspray on the face of the rim. 10 mins or less in between coats, the clear went on about 30 minutes after the bronze.

You can get the clear at about any auto store, the bronze is a little harder to find, i found my 4 cans at autozone.

Wait til you see it lowered with some shineautoproject body pieces...i can't wait, but i will have to...cause my bank account is empty...
