My New to Me 10th AE

Heres my new car, I finally picked it up, an 88 10th Anniversary Turbo II. It came with Racing Beat springs, 3 inch Racing Beat down pipe, upgraded fuel pump and injectors, S5 rotors, 3mm apex seals, upgraded S5 turbo with upgraded internals, and a 6 puck clutch. Anyways, heres some good pics. Let me know what you think.

Sounds like a good car. How much did you put up for it? Any future plans?

How many miles? Looks like you are starting to have the infamous "white paint problem" all white FCs suffer from. That poor drivers seat

rip off the black mouldings and spray paint the headlight lids and id say you got a good car as long as it runs good.

Yea i couldnt complain for only $1500. Im gonna recover the seat, replace the exhaust, paint the headlight lids, and pull that black crap off the doors and wheel wells. The car will only run for a little before it shuts off because its fouling the plugs. So once i fix that, im just gonna throw a piggy back on it and drive the thing. It has a 14psi wastegate with the upgraded turbo, so it will have plenty of power... for now. Theres only a few thousand miles on the rebuilt motor, and 106k on the chassis. Heres some more pics i forgot to add.

Steal. Get new exhaust, put a clamp on that intercooler pipe and ride.

I would say whomever pulled the original motor was sloppy.. The wiring harness is exposed and the front bumper got pushed in pretty bad.. (or was it wrecked in the front?)

Overall great find for $1500. With a little work you will have a $6000 car on your hands. Very nice indeed... I guess it was traded in to a dealer? They probably gave them $600 for trade in.

Also looking at it you may want to try putting some hose clamps on some things and see if that won't help the fouling issues.. I mean there isn't even a clamp on the pressurized line coming off the turbo..... There are probably a lot of "loose ends" that may help the issues.

I havent started the car yet. But i have a few bolts that need to go into the intercooler, and also I have to put on some hose clamps on the boost pipes. The problems i was talking about were just what the previous owner had told me it was doing when he couldnt fix it. It has been sitting for a little while, so hopefully it hasnt rotted the motor to pieces. its prolly been a year since it was last started.

It is not wise to post your four digit key code on the internet...

well you need more than just the key code to get one made dont you? I just thought the key was cool. Anyways, it shouldnt really matter, the car is locked up and in my garage at the shop. So its not like anyone could find it lol.

Oddly enough, dealerships I deal with want an ID and title to cut based on VIN, but will cut exact key numbers by simple request.

Just a friendly warning, 10AE's are rare enough already.

I have an HKS SSQV that im gonna put on there in a few days once the mounting flange gets here. Also, I found out more about the turbo. Its made by TEC, and is called a Sport 350 it's a direct bolt in replacement with a wastegate set at 14psi. Theres maybe 1k miles on the new turbo, so thats pretty sweet. Im so close as having it work perfectly, I just need to figure out some of its quirks.
