My new Bundle of Joy!

finally took delivery of my new motor, just wanted to share my happiness...

as u can see it's damn complete for a Jspec...

Wiring harness even has the fuse boxes and everything

still has the downpipe with head shields...

i got the oil cooler with shroud...

i got the AFM with the airbox!

only thing missing is the intercooler...

it's a real pity u can't use all this good stuff when doin this swap...

i was contemplating whether to stick it in my TII or my FD...

decided to go with the FD in the end...

i'll probably make an on-going thread of my build up, and woe's etc... of this installation with pics... i know the forum loves pics.. so here's the first batch...

hasn't been cleaned or touched by me what so ever...

Those bolts on the UIM look awfully shiny and new especially when you look at the dirt and grime on the UIM... Looks to me like that may have been taken off and put back on for some reason.

Rebuild and port that bad boy! A Cosmo or Jspec engine should be rebuilt for peace of mind anyway. They are a gamble as you have found out.

Good Luck! Should be sweet when your done!

sucks, however now you can pull out the puney re exhaust diffusers..

i am running a jspec RE and am now wishing i would have rebuilt it before installing it. i keep turning up the boost and its still together though

are you 100% sure its blown? IE: have you pulled the exhaust mani and looked at the seals?

For the engine being that complete. Just rebuild the sucker. 13B RE's aren't nearly as common as Jspec 13BT's like what I got.. I'm jealous of that engine and my engine had over 100 compression on each face when I got it.

well maybe the definition of blown is loose... the seals looked ok when pearing in through the spark plug hole... (not that u can see much)

to me blown=doesn't have 3 equal stong puffs regardless the reason...

I've "blown" my FD motor before.. and that was popping a seal.. but 1 face still had good compression

this one has no compression on all three faces... if u don't look into the spark plug hole.. u wouldn't even know the rotor passed by

it's like the engine became a single rotor...

what u think it might be?
