my new BBS wheels!

yes....so these are the BBS RG wheels i ordered and finally got today. they are kick ***! front- 16x7.5. back-16x8.5. Got them cause they look pretty similar to the infini wheels but are wider. off sets high though. fronts are 45 and backs are 50....i think (im drawing a blank for some reason, im pretty sure its correct though). i have to get spacers and i wanna know what u guys think of all this first. do u think i should go with 255 or 245 for the back and 235 or 245 for the front. they will prob be 45-50 for the fronts height and 50-55 for the back. so how big of spacers should i get? i do want to keep it in the wheel well too and not sticking out the sides cause its cheesy as hell. i was thinkink like 25 or 30mm backs and 15 or so front. well....lastly, not to **** all u crazy older people off but im only 15. hahaha. yes....all of this was all out of my wallet. hopefully within the next month ill finally get my brake/hub job done (all coming out of my wallet again) and ill post all the pics on here. bitch company on ebay are what keep holding me up. but itll turn out really nice in the end though. heres the wheels

I <3 BBS wheels... got vert wheels now, don't see the point in dropping half a grand+ to get a 16" wheel vs what I have now... congrats to you. .

nice wheels, I love how nice and shiney they are, I painted my vert rims black with the lip polished. Looks like I picked them up right off of takumiproject. Cost me $60.

They look sweet. But, your RX-7 isn't meant for drag racing. Have the rear and front tire widths the same so there isn't any understeer.

I would go with 215 tires in front, and 235 tires in back. IMHO,235 is too wide for a 7.5 wheel...I mean technically its not, but the tire will bulge out a bit and look wierd and flex more giving worse response. plus you'll have a lot of trouble fitting it in the front(depending on suspension). and I really doubt you'll fit a 245, unless you run some - camber, and roll the fenders a little(if it even cleared the strut).

and I'd do 20mm spacers in front, and 30mm spacers in back.

sounds like you are gonna need spacers obviously. check manufacturer specs for tires you are interested in buying to see what width they suggest. 245 sounds a bit wide for a 7.5" wheel. there are some 245's that will fit in the front with that lip rolled in. you are gonna be squeezed really tight any way you do it . i'd bolt up the rims and check the inside clearance with the strut before doing anything else. for spacers the size you are considering you will definately need the buggers that bolt up to your hub and have new studs pressed into them. the studs aren't anywheres near long enough to run spacers that size.

oh and nice wheels. how much do they weigh?

Nice! How much were the wheels/tires? I assume a lot cheaper than what you could get genuine Infini wheels for... Good choice man.

thanks guys. yea....i just wrote up 245 front cause ive seen people do that to. i wasnt so sure about it myself. ive got 215 on my 17x7's now (tiburon wheels....haha....they came with the car : ( ....anyone wanna buy them? ill send pics if you want), and even 215 on the fronts for 7.5 now. so you guys think about 225-235? im positive i wanna go 245 on the back. my bro's got them on his 3rd gen (stock 8" wheels) and they are badass. along with his friends talon, whom has the only set of these volk model wheels as we know of in america. so again...any more thoughts on offsets? and ive seen alot of spacer adapters, but where can i get the cheapest?

they were from cali. got it down to 480 with tires (about 25-50% left) and then the 120 for shipping to ohio, so 600 total. i dont know....i didnt think it wasnt too bad. i was gonna wait till i went to japan again, which is almost every other summer, and that would be this year, to look for wheels but i said hell and just got these....to keep it easy.

You're right, probably doesn't have enough HP for that much rubber, but braking distance will be shortened.

come on....im thinkin ahead. im gettin a head start. its not like its a freekin pos n/a or anything. its a 90 TII black on black in pretty damn good condition. all i got is a apexi gt cat back and intake now but o well. soon as someone buys my dirtbike (which im havent made much of an attempt too; its at the bottom of my posts i hope) and i get a job, ill have a fair amount of money. its goin towards an engine rebuild, not half *** either (im half jap and was more raised that way, so i cant settle for cheap half *** jobs). the engine rebuild itself was going to be around 1200 if the housings and rotors are in shape (hopefully). then i got odds and ends to do. i might buy **** in japan cheap and bring it back too. im not trying to be power focused either. im doin all brake/ hub stuff and thats goin to end up being around 700-800 all together. sure...i could have put that into power....but its not that important to me now. i havent really driven it enough to know how the power feels yet either. so y upgrade power when i dont even know how this for sure feels? ill just be more power hungary thinking what i did wasnt enough. and i know my brake/hub job is prob better than most any one else on here, not bragging, but ive looked at every freekin thread that came up searching. just wait....haha. yea....this got way off track but yes....thats me.

haha....comeon guys...i seriously didnt mean n/a 7's are POS in that way! i just said that meaning like....most n/a's arent taken car of as much as they should be...so they are in crappier condition slower cars. plus...who wants an rx7 that every one else has (more n/a's being built*)

Nice wheels, I think I've seen something like those somewhere . . . . . .

Oh yeah, it was on a POS NA that was slow, in crappy condition, poorly maintained, and just like everyone else's 430,000+ mile heap . . . . . . .

On another note, are you sure those wheels weigh 38 and 42 pounds each? If so, you don't want to know what the BBS RS' weigh.

indeed

u guys will see them on my car as soon as this becomes an informitive thread in where i actually get some information on what size spacers i should get so i can get them (haha), and of course as soon as i get my brake/hub job done, hopefully within the next couple of weeks. so when i get new tires (or when i get money), they are going to be 225/45 (or 50? what do u guys think?) for the 7.5. the 8.5 are gonna be 245 and again...45 or 50? the offsets for the 7.5 are 45 while the 8.5 are 50. would spacers 20 front and 25 back make it about right?

Do the math. Find the cirumference of the tire and get it as close to the original tire circumference as you'd like (different circumferences yield even more innacurate speedo and essentially longer/shorter gearing). Look around on the forum to see how wide other people's tires are and figure it out yourself instead of asking other people to do the work for you.
