my new AE project

man this is gonna be one big money pit but here we go i have gotten started by buying it hehe. only thing that i have found wrong so far is first off the paint and second of all i think first gear is gone completely if i go to shift the car into first it willl go into first and then up and to the left then to get it out you have to pull it back to the right and then down to get to neutral, it will go into second third forth fifht and reverse easy but does have play in all of them wich i'm very scared of that another thing is that since the car has been sitting for about 9 months i tried to turn it over also knowing that the turbo is completley gone and noticed that she won't turn over i'm taking the starter off tomorrow and going and getting it checked but i think it's porbably locked up what is that one stuff to use for situations like that where you pour it into the chamber and let it soak for a while? thanks for all of the help.

Your first gear sloppyness is probably due to either worn shifter bushings or the shifter isn't bolted down all the way. Check these before you go tearing your hair out of your head .

man that lumina in the background is --BAD--!!! hehe

well bro nice car and welcome. oh ya, when i had my last N/A when i wore out 1st and 2nd gear it did the same thing you describe and the car will kick out of gear when your tranny is shot. sloppyness in the rest of the gears is more then likely just bad shifter bushings.

God save the badges... things are extremely expensive to replace. Nice find, hopefully she'll be shiny white again some day. Money pit AEs rock!
